Mangalore Unisex Salon Vandalism Case, Court Sentences 14 Days Judicial Custody to Rama Sene Members

Mangaluru: In a significant judicial development, a local court has sentenced 14 members of the Ram Sena to two weeks of judicial custody for their involvement in the vandalism of the Colors Unisex Salon, located near the KSRTC bus stand in Bejai, on Thursday afternoon.

The incident unfolded when Prasad Attavar, the leader of the Rama Sena along with his associates, accused the salon of engaging in “immoral activities.” Armed with their allegations, the group forcibly entered the salon, leading to extensive damage to the establishment’s equipment. In addition to the destruction of property, reports indicate that the assailants verbally abused and physically assaulted the salon staff before making their escape.

Upon receiving a complaint, a case was registered at the Barke police station. In response to the serious nature of the incident, law enforcement officials launched a rapid operation, culminating in the arrest of 14 suspects, including the alleged mastermind, Prasad Attavar. The accused were produced before the court on January 24, and they were remanded in judicial custody for two weeks.

Local authorities have condemned the actions of the Rama Sena, emphasizing the importance of maintaining public order and respecting the rights of individuals and businesses.
