Mangalureans Welcomed New Year 2017 with a Bang
Mangaluru: The parties, the trips, the getaways none of them gets old. In fact, it gets more interesting and confusing with a gazzilion new ways to celebrate. What matters is, apart from all the fun, you get a chance on a new start! And for that matter, Mangalureans celebrated the New Year 2017 with zest, enthusiasm, fun, frolic and glamour. As the much awaited New Year’s Eve was closer, Kudla revellers were abuzz with plans of much merriment and all that one can possibly do, to ring and bring in another year – and they all picked their fun destinations to celebrate New Year 2017.
New year is indeed the perfect time to put all your worries behind and make a rocking start to 2017. The Christmas events 2016 and New year events 2017 are two of the most exciting parties back to back and many revellers didn’t miss out on any fun that they deserved..because pampering yourself during Christmas and New Year’s Eve are the jolliest time of the year. The revellers had their best time to celebrate the joy of being together by partying together at their favourite place of choice, either at a club, hotel, pub or at a private party.
The New Year is all about enjoying the last day of the current year and to welcome the New Year with a hope to be better, many establishments this year had hosted NYE parties, knowing that Mangalureans love to attend the most happening New Year event as always. The fact that the New Year eve follows soon after the Christmas celebrations does not really affect the thirst to celebrate the eve!!
Over time, commercial parties have seen their popularity wane in some circles, with many opting to have fun in more private spaces. But for many others, these parties still ruled the roost, and were very much sought after. For many New Year was a time for retrospection and revaluation and of course the inevitable New Year’s resolutions. While we make determined efforts to improve ourselves every day, New Year is special. We may laugh or joke that our resolution may not stand the test of time but every year many of us unfailingly make at least one promise to better ourselves in some way.
Now coming to New Year parties that were hosted by hotels, clubs, pubs, and other social organisations, every had a good choice to pick which place they would celebrate their New Year’s Eve party. Surinder Shah from New Delhi who always comes down to Mangaluru with his family (this is his 5th visit) during Christmas and New Year, speaking to Team Mangalorean at the Hotel Taj Gateway NYE bash said, ” I didn’t mind paying Rs 7000 for couple ticket which is inclusive of a lavish buffet dinner plus unlimited premium drink, but was very much disappointed where I paid Rs 5000 for a Christmas Night Party at a Club in Mangaluru, which came with nothing, just an entry to get in – that was a big rip off. My sincere thanks to Hotel Taj Gateway for offering such a good deal, where the same ticket price here would cost around Rs 13-14 thousand at a star hotel in New Delhi. Mangaluru is a great place to party, with couple beaches adding more opportunities for revellers to party”.
The new happening bar and lounge in town-“Retox Lounge and Bar” on Balmatta Road also had the big Christmas and New Year celebrations with Dj’s from Goa and Mangaluru belting out some popular hits for the crowd to groove on the dance floor, added to that there were drink specials and mouth-watering delicacies meticulously prepared by the best Chef in town, hailing from North India. Eden Aquatic and Sports Club also celebrated in NYE in a grand manner, with Dj music, lots of prizes, dance, fun and frolic, including a dazzling fireworks display- and the show was compered by Wilma Serrao.
Hotel Moti Mahal celebrated NYE in a unique and different way, comprising of Dance, Live Music, Games, Surprise Gifts, and selection of “Moti Queen 2016” and “Best Couple of The Day” and also lots of Non-Stop Entertainment plus Fabulous Food and array of Selected Beverages. The line-up included Dj Sujay, live music by Strings, and the bash compered by pro-MC Edward. G6- Music Cafe also put up a grand Christmas and NYE bash, with Band Charitra playing on Christmas night, while ‘5 Stars’ band rocked the place with favourite dance numbers. Also, MRT 115 had their NYE bash at City Beach with top Dj’s from Mumbai livening up the night, filled with music, food, drinks, and total fun.
