Mangaluru: Property Infratech inaugurated its 17th completed project ‘Peters Cote’, a residential apartment project at Balikashram Road, Kankanady here on February 7.
Land owner Ruffi Peters inaugurated the apartment project by cutting the ribbon. Later, the dignitaries lit a traditional lamp. Fr Ravi Santosh Kamath of Fatima Retreat House blessed the project.
Addressing the gathering, MLC Ivan D’Souza said that there is a change in the city. “Mangaluru is developing very fast and the builders have played a vital role.” He further said that earlier, people were hesitant to stay in apartments saying that they needed fresh air and a garden in front of their house. But now, the mindset has changed and people prefer to stay in apartments. The builders have built apartments that give the feeling of being in independent houses with all the infrastructure and basic facilities. He also said that out of 20 projects, Rohan has already completed 17.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA J R Lobo congratulated Rohan and his team for the beautiful building and said that the building has given special beauty to the location. “Mangaluru city looks like a major city. There are a number of buildings and malls coming up in Mangaluru. When such buildings and malls are coming up, we need to think on how to sustain the development work of the city. We need to think over it because there are many builders taking up projects for the development of the city and to continue such development work we need sustainability. We need to think of new economical activities to sustain such projects. We have to think of getting more revenue into Mangaluru. At present we are not getting investment from outsiders, so we need to join hands with the builders, administrators and politicians and together work for the development of the city.”
He further said that if someone starts a business, we think of pulling his/her legs and try to close down their business. “We are like frogs in a well. We should be free from such thoughts and start to think about the development of the city.” Lobo also said that Rohan Infratech has always given importance to quality in every project without thinking of the profit. In the development of Mangaluru city, Rohan has played an important role.
The contractor, engineer, site manager and the legal advisor were felicitated on the occasion. Dion Monteiro delivered the vote of thanks. Sahil Zahir compered the programme. NRI entrepreneur Ron Rodrigues, Harikrishna Bantwal, Vijaykumar Shetty, Suresh Ballal, Ruffi Peters, Sashidhar Hegde, Naveen D’Souza and Asha D’Silva were also present.
