Mangaluru: In a hit-and-run case, a 19-year-old engineering student died on the spot at Padil here, on October 14.
The deceased has been identified as Vinay R (19), son of Ramesh R and Asha, residents of Bejai, Jail road. He was a student of Canara Engineering College,Benjanapadav.
Speaking to Mangalorean.com, Vinay’s father Ramesh said, “Last week, I bought a new bike for him to go to the college. He was a very bright student.”
According to the police, Vinay was on his way back home from college on his bike along with one of his college mate. When they reached near Bajal Cross road, a lorry hit his bike. Vinay was thrown to the right side of the road. Due to severe head injuries,Vinay died on the spot.
The driver of the lorry without stopping the vehicle fled from the spot. A hit-and-run case has been registered in Kadri Traffic Police Station and investigation is on.
At least Helmet would have saved him, his father bought a bike to him. very sad indeed very bad days for two wheelers. our heartfelt condolences for the bereaved family may his soul rest in peace
