Mangaluru: The officers of the Customs have busted another modus operandi of gold smuggling and seized 2 Ten Tola gold bars and two numbers of Rectangular gold objects weighing 472.520 grams valued at Rs 12,35,680/- concealed in the rectum of a passenger on March 13.
The gold was seized from a passenger identified as Deepak Nachaldas Wadhwa (43), a resident of Ulhasnagar, Thane, Maharashtra. He arrived at the Mangaluru International airport on March 13, at 9:00 hrs by Jet Airways flight no 9W531 from Dubai.
Deepak was arrested and produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate. Further investigation is under progress.
