Mangaluru: A 30-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling of his room at Tannirbavi, here on May 26. The incident came to light on May 27.
The deceased has been identified as Vijaynarayan Vishwakarma (30), a native of Uttar Pradesh and a sub contractor of Bharati Shipyard.
According to the death note, Vijayanarayan had borrowed money from others to carry out work at Bharati Shipyard. Vijayanarayan was working as a sub-contractor from the past four years and was supposed to get more than Rs 10 lakh from Bharati Shipyard. He had requested the head of Bharati Shiyard Ltd, V Sequiera to make the payment many times. But Sequiera was giving false promises of making the payment soon. Trusting Sequiera, Vijayanarayan borrowed more money from people and carried out the contract work without fail.
Vijayanarayan made desperate attempts to get his money and to repay the loan which he had borrowed from others, but failed in his attempts. Disappointed, Vijayanarayan took the extreme step and ended his life by hanging himself.
A case has been registered in the Panambur police station.
