Mangaluru: According to sources received a senior pilot with Air India Express, Capt D S Jain, aged 60, died of cardiac arrest in a private hospital here on Monday June 22. Hailing from Gurgaon, Capt Jain was a pilot on the Mangaluru-Abu Dhabi AI Express flight.
Sources reveal that on the evening of Monday, around 5pm after landing the aircraft at Mangalore International Airport, Capt Jain headed back to Mangaluru to his room at Hotel taj Gateway, where he usually accommodated.
As a routine exercise, that evening he took a walk to Nehru Maidan which is close by to the hotel. While he walking he developed some severe pain in the chest. One of his friends quickly rushed him to a nearby private hospital. Although the doctors gave him the necessary treatment, Capt. Jain could not survive, who breathed his last at the hospital on Monday night.
His family members, including his wife, brother and sister on getting the news had come down to Mangaluru by flight on Tuesday, and transported his body by flight to Gurgaon the same day.
