Mangaluru: A complaint has been received at the Pandeshwar police station regarding a threat to the life of Rahim Uchil, former president of the Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy.
Investigations revealed that several calls were received by him through the Internet. Hence the identity of the caller could not be ascertained immediately.
It has been stated that he started getting threats through Internet after he gave an interview on a TV channel recently.
It may be recalled here that in mid-2012, there had been an attempt on his life by hacking him down while he was sitting in his official chamber in the Tulu Academy office in Attavar. The injuries were almost fatal, but under thorough medical attention, he had survived.
