Mangaluru: In a shocking incident, a would be bride lost her gold ornaments from Hotel Moti Mahal here on February 1.
According to police, Narayan Shetty’s daughter Navya’s marriage was fixed with Shubham Kurana from Punjab, on February 1, the engagement was held at Hotel Moti Mahal. In this regard the bride’s family booked four rooms number 302 to 305 in Moti Mahal in Shubham’s name.
The engagement was held in the morning. After the engagement at around 12:30pm, Navya along with her sister Dravya went to Room number 304 to change their dress. At the same time Navya removed the gold ornaments she was wearing and kept it in a jewel box and placed securely in the carrier bag which they had brought with them. Leaving the carrier bag in the room she locked the door and went back to the hall.
After the function, at around 3:30pm Navya along with the family members checked out from the hotel. As soon as they reached home at 4:00pm they opened the carrier bag to place the gold ornaments back in the safe. To their surprise the jewel box containing gold ornaments worth Rs 5.06 lakh was missing.
A case has been registered in Mangaluru South Police station and investigation is on.
