Mangaluru: A 50-year-old man died on the spot, while he was alighting from a bus in front of Fr Muller Hospital, Kankanady here, on October 20.
The deceased has been identified as Balakrishna (50), a resident of Vamanjoor. He was an employee of ICICI Bank Valencia Branch.
According to eyewitnesses, Balakrishna was alighting from the bus bearing number KA 19 D 5979 Route number 5 at the time of accident. The bus ran over his head.
Speaking to Mangalorean.com, the staff at the bank said that Balakrishna had gone to the bank’s head office in Hampankatta on official work and was returning with the affidavit of a customer.
The Kadri traffic police arrived at the spot and with the help of Fr Muller Hospital staff, the body was shifted to the hospital’s morgue. The police have seized the bus and a case has been registered in the Kadri police station.
Balakrishna is survived by wife and three children.
