Mangaluru: The Cloistered Carmel nuns held a press meet at their premises, Kankanady here on May 12.
The canonization of Blessed Mary of Jesus Crucified will be celebrated on May 17 with the Eucharistic celebration at 4:30 pm at the Sacred Heart Monastery, Cloistered Carmel Kankanady. To mark the canonization of Mariam Baouardy various programmes will be held in the Monastery. Parish Priest of Valencia Fr James D’Souza inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries.
Addressing the mediapersons Sr Shalini AC said that to mark the canonization of Blessed Mary of Jesus Crucified will be held on May 12 at 4:30 PM with a Eucharistic Mass. Bishop of Mangalore Dr Alyosius D’Souza along with other priests will be celebrating the mass. On May 14, 15 and 16 a triduum will be held. On May 16, symposium will be held for religious priests and nuns at St Ann’s college of Education campus at 3:00 PM.
After the Mass, on May 17, a stage play, “Mariam Baouardy”, will be played by White doves at Fr Muller Grounds.
Sr Olivia and Fr Santhosh Kamath also spoke on the occasion. Elias Fernandes and Stanly Bantwal were also present.
