Mangaluru Chalo recent developments: Liquor Shops to Remain close for 12 hrs
Mangaluru: The Police Commissioner in his letter to the Deputy commissioner stated that in order to maintain the law and order situation in the Mangaluru Police Commissionerate a ban on liquor sale for 12 hours should be imposed.
The DC Dr Jagadeesha considered the request from the Police commissioner and instructed the Deputy commissioner of Excise to impose a ban on the sale of liquor from 7 September, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
On September 7, the BJP Yuva Morcha has organized the Mangaluru Chalo Bike rally. Since permission has not been granted to hold the bike rally, to control the law and order situation in the Mangaluru Police Commissioneratete, sale of liquor has been banned and all liquor shops will remain closed for 12 hours from 7 September 6:00 am.
In view of the recent developments, Section 35 of the Karnataka Police Act has also been imposed from 6 September 6:00 pm to September 8 midnight. Under the act, processions, Jathas and rallies have been prohibited.”
