Mangaluru: The Nehru Jayanthi Celebration Committee and Mangalagangothri are jointly organizing a painting competition on the theme ’An Artist’s Image of Nehru’ on the 28th of February, 2015 from 2 pm to 5 pm simultaneously at two places, to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
The venue for artists from Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu is Mangalore University College, Hampankatta, Mangaluru. The artists from Udupi can participate in this competition at Rajiv Gandhi National Academy, Ermal, Tenka at the same time on the same day. The artistic works will be displayed in an exhibition on the 7th and 8th of March during the International Seminar on Nehru, to be organized at Mangalagangothri. The artists are permitted to use either paint or water colour as their mediums of expression in their paintings or sketch their impressions. The entries are under two separate categories of Amateurs and Professionals. The first three best paintings will be selected for a cash award of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,500 and Rs 5,000 for the first, second and third places respectively. All aspirants above the age of 15 are eligible to take part in this competition. The last date for registration is the 26th of February, 2015.
