Mangaluru: The Mangalore Christian Council in association with Mangalore Diocesan Ecumenical Commission, Karnataka Christmas Educational Society, Chair In Christianity, Karnataka Mission Network and Karnataka United Christian Forum for Human Rights-Western Zone organized “Souharda Christmas 2015”, at Milagres hall here, on December 12.
The programme was inaugurated by the bishop of Mangalore diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the bishop of Puttur Dr Geevarghese Mar Divannasios and the Director of Ave Maria Palliative Care Dr Laveena Noronha by lighting the traditional lamp.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr Geevarghese Mar Divannasios said that human hearts can be compared to arks in the bible. There were two arks in the old testament, Noah’s ark and the ark of the covenant. “Noah’s ark had all animals, good and bad. But the covenant ark had only good things. We should make our hearts like the ark of the covenant. In that way, we can ensure that it is for Jesus to stay in,” he said.
A Cultural programme was held by the students of various schools and organizations.
