Mangaluru City Corporation First to get increment in Monthly Honorarium – Ivan D’Souza
Mangaluru: The State government has announced increment of Honorarium to all the Mangalore City Corporation council members, said Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza in a press meet held at his office, Lalbagh here, on September 17.
Speaking to the mediapersons Ivan said, “Mayor Harinath had requested to increase the honorarium to all the council members as the present honorarium is not enough to lead a decent life. I took his request letter and submitted it to the chief minister. Finally, the chief minister increased the honorarium. The Mayor will hereafter get Rs 16,000, deputy mayor will get Rs 10,000 and council members will get Rs 6000 per month”.
Ivan also said that this is the first City corporation to get an increment in honorarium in Karnataka. The honorarium will not be revised for five years.
Mayor Harinath, MUDA Chairman Ibrahim Kodijal, Kavu Hemanath Shetty and others were also present.
