Mangaluru: D B Mehta elected President of CREDAI

Mangaluru: The Installation ceremony of the new executive committee of CREDAI – 2015-17 was held at Hotel Deepa Comforts, M G Road here on April 6.

The programme began with an invocation. Former Credai President Pushparaj Jain welcomed the gathering. The charge was handed over to the newly elected president D B Mehta by Pushparaj Jain. D B Mehta delivered the presidential address.

Addressing the gathering MLA Moideen Bava said that CREDAI has brought glory to Mangaluru city. CREDAI has brought all the builders together. In Mangaluru we have all the facilities such as port connectivity, railway connectivity, airport, MRPL, ONGC and other industries. Mangaluru is an education hub and people come from other states and countries to pursue their education. Bava appealed to the builders to join hands in the comprehensive development of the city. The builders faced problems in obtaining licences and other requisite documents from MCC and other agencies. He urged the authorities to address these issues.
MLA J R Lobo congratulated the newly elected members and said that Mangaluru is a fast developing city. He further said that D B Mehta is a able leader and CREDAI has the responsibility to contribute in the development work of the city. CREDAI members face various problems. When the builders were getting threat from the underworld, the delegation from CREDAI had met the authorities requesting to deal with the situation. Lobo assured the builders of protection from extortion threats and help from the government in obtaining clearances for constructions.

He further said that the CREDAI outgoing committee has done commendable job, the newly elected committee has the responsibility on their shoulders for the growth of the city. If anyone performs his duty sincerely, they will be successful. We need investment in the city, and we need the support and co-operation from CREDAI members. If we get investment by inviting new industries to the city, we can make Mangaluru as a second best city in the country. Lobo urged the CREDAI members to build a park for the differently abled children with their corporate social responsibility funds at Kadri park.

MLC Ivan D’Souza, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Mayor Jacintha Alfred spoke on the occasion. Credai Secretary Naveen Cardoza delivered the vote of thanks. Treasurer Erol Pinto introduced D B Mehta to the gathering. Sharon Pinto compered the programme.

Vice president Dhiraj Amin, Chairman In Land Builders Siraj, Chairman Rohan Infra-tech Rohan Montiero and Ganesh Bangera were also present.
