Mangaluru: The Kannada and culture Departments in association with Tulu, Konkani and Beary Sahitya Academies organized a curtain raiser to the four-day programme “Sangama Sambhrama 2015”, at Pilikula Nisargadhama here, on July 22.
The programme began with an invocation. President of Beary Sahitya Academy, B A Mohammed Hanif welcomed the gathering.
Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, drawing a sun set, inaugurated “Sangama Sambhrama 2015”. Addressing the gathering, DC Ibrahim said that people should have interest to take part in such programmes and even though many cultural programmes are being organised in Mangaluru, people are not aware of them. “In the coastal areas, people are very active and there is unity in diversity. From the last few years, some anti-social elements have been spoiling the unity among people in our district which has affected the economy of the district. People from other districts as well as states are afraid to come to our district. We need to improve entrepreneurship in our district, for this we need positive news spreading from our district. When we organize such programmes and invite people to take part, we can create positive thoughts in people’s minds. We need to encourage entrepreneurship which will help in creating more jobs for our youth.”
DC also said that when our youth complete their education, they go outside the state or country to find jobs. “We have to create more jobs for our youth by promoting entrepreneurship.” He further said that all the three academies (Tulu, Konkani and Beary) have come together under one banner to organize the “Sangama Sambhrama” which shows unity in diversity. He wished the organizers the very best.
President of Tulu Sahitya Academy, Janaki Brahmavar said that in this world, three people are the most happiest and most satisfied. They are, the mother who finds happiness while feeding her baby, the doctor who finds happiness when his/her patient is cured and the artist who completes his favourite art. She wished success for the programme.
