District Administration Observes International Yoga Day
The programme was inaugurated by the district minister in-charge B RamanathRai by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.
Addressing the mediapersons, Ramanath Rai said, “I do yoga every morning for 2 hours. At the beginning, I started with 15 minutes a day. Later, I continued for one hour and now I am doing 2 hours of yoga. From 6:30 am to 8:30 am I do yoga everyday, be it in Bengaluru or other districts. I began getting very good sleep after I started to do yoga. Yoga is good for health. I urge everyone to do yoga regularly to keep themselves fit.”
Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim said that yoga is good for health, it relieves stress, back pain, and other diseases. “In Mangaluru, the district administration organized International yoga day in a systematic way. All the ministers, MLAs, political leaders and officers participated in the Yoga Day. It is a well organized show. In this modern world, most of the people are very busy and they do not get time to take care of their health. All the participants are busy in their work and they face stress in their daily life. We have introduced Yoga for them and the response is very good. All those who have come here have enjoyed the yoga session. From the past six months, I have been practicing yoga which has helped me improve my productivity and efficiency.”
He advised everyone to do yoga to keep themselves healthy, happy and physically fit.
Yoga guru Gopalkrishan Derlampady said, “The yoga therapy went on well, everyone performed well. Yoga is good to relieve mental stress, joint pain, back pain, spondiolosis and headache.” He wished all the participants the best and advised them to continue practicing Yoga.
