Mangaluru: The Vice Chairman, Kanachur Academy of General Education Dr Arunachalam Kumar was felicitated on the Senior Citizen’s Day, at the Netravati Auditorium, Zilla Panchayat here on October 1.
The programme was organized by the Zilla Panchayat. District minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai presided over the programme. Dr Arunachalam was felicitated by the deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim with a shawl, flower and citation.
Dr Arunachalam, a distinguished teacher and administrator with over three and half decades of experience as a professional had earlier received the District Rajyotsava Award (2002) and the Air India-Deccan Herald BOLT Award for being selected as the most innovative teacher in Karnataka (2004).
MLC Ivan D’Souza, ZP President Asha Thimmappa Gowda and others were also present.
