Mangaluru: Alva’s Institutions will be organising “Alva’s Virasat 2015” from 24-27 December at Smt. Vanajakshi K. Sripati Bhat Open Theatre, Vivekananda Nagar, Puttige, Moodabidri.
A procession will be held at 5:15 pm and guests will be escorted traditionally to the dais. The inaugural programme will be held on 24th December at 5:30 pm. Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade will be inaugurating Virasat 2015, while president of Nitte Education Trust Dr Vinay Hegde will preside over the function.
Minister Abhayachandra Jain, Dr G Shanker, Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, K A Dayanand, K Amarnath Shetty, Rakesh Sharma, P Jayaram Bhat, Kurunakara Shetty, Suresh Bhandary, Prakash Shetty and Sripathi Bhat will also be present at the programme.
Padmashri and Padma Bhusan awardee, Dr S P Balasubrahmanyam will be conferred with the Alva’s Virasat 2015 award. The award consist of Rs 1 lakh with citation and it will be presented at the inaugural programme.
A cultural programme will be held thereafter. Dr S P Balasubrahmanyam and his team will present a “rasamanjari”. Ustad Munavar Masoom and team will present “kvali” and “sufi” songs. Vijay Prakash Mumbai, Karthik Chennai, Mahalakshmi Iyer Kerala and team will present “Sangeetha Vaibhava”.
