Mangaluru: Duo Robs Home-alone Woman in Bondel Case – One Arrested

Mangaluru: Kavoor police have arrested a person on July 14, in connection to Robbing Home-alone Woman by entering inside her house at Bondel.

Addressing the mediapersons DCP Shanthraj said that on July 11, a man knocked at the gate of Radha’s house, saying that he met with an accident and needed some water. Radha (58) a employee in the commercial tax department peeped through the window and saw a man with blood on his face. Radha in order to help him opened the main door and went inside to bring water. By the time two persons attacked her and bound her hands and legs. They also locked her inside a room and decamped with gold chain, Rs 39,000 cash and 3 mobile phones all worth Rs 89,000.

Next day morning Radha went to the police station and filed a complaint. The Kavoor police registered a complaint under sections 394, 448, 354 and 34 IPC and search was on for the culprits.

Kavoor police on Jully 14 arrested Taranath from Padavinangady. During interrogation, Taranath revealed that he along with his associate had committed the crime. He also revealed that he came to know that Radha was staying alone and she was working for the commercial tax department and must be having lot of gold ornaments and cash. He along with his friend created a scene of accident and coloured his face with Kumkum to make Radha believe that he had really met with an accident. When we pleaded for water to drink, Radha opened the front door and went inside to get water, that was when we attacked her.

He further revealed that the robbed gold chain and cash is with another person who was with him and that he was given only Rs 1000 for his expenses”.

A special team has been formed to nab the other culprit in this case. The operation is being carried out under the able guidance of Police commissioner S Murugan, DCP K M Shantharaju and ACP Madan A Goaker, the police team headed by M A Nataraj, PSI Umesh Kumar, Vishwanath, Manjunath, Ganesh, Ramanna Shetty, Radhakrishna, Yashwanth and Satish.
