Mangaluru: A man hailing from Elinje near Kinnigoli was held by the Kerala police at Kochi airport a few days ago.
In 2013, a female theatre artiste from here had accused Sudhir Shetty of befriending her with promise to get married but had later backed out. She subsequently filed a complaint against him in Mulki police station.
He is said to have evaded action by taking shelter abroad. Over two years later, he decided to come to India without being noticed. Hence he chose to come through Kochi international airport.
On receipt of instructions from the authorities concerned, Shetty was reportedly taken into custody by the Kochi police. The police from Mulki arrested him, brought him over and produced him in a court here.
