Mangaluru: Founder of Komal’s Group and former KCCI President Boloor Vitoba Shivanna Nagvekar Passes away

Mangaluru: Owner of Komal’s sweets, Boloor Vitoba Shivanna Nagvekar breathed his last at his residence here, on April 3 at 9:15 a.m. He was 85-years-old.

Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader visited the house of the deceased and offered his condolences to the family members. Speaking to mangalorean.com, Khader said, “He was very a close friend of my father. Being the founder of Komal’s group, he was very popular for his philanthropic nature. Youth should follow in his footsteps as he is a role model for the present generation. He had created a niche in the business industry. He has contributed to the community and society at large.”

Srikar Prabhu speaking on the occasion said that through Komal’s, Boloor Vitoba had created a brand name in the society. “He had started the Guru Peeta in Mangaluru and was the former president of the Mangaluru Chamber of Commerce. He helped many people by providing them jobs.”

Nagvekar was also the awardee of ‘Guru Seva Niratha’ and ‘Vaishya Ratna’. He was the president of Vaishya Education trust and served at Shree Venkataramana Temple Dongerkery.

Boloor Vitoba Nagvekar is survived by two sons, three daughters, 10 grand children and a number of well wishers.
