Mangaluru: CCB Police arrested four persons on charges of cricket betting near Jail Road, Bejai here on May 9.
The arrested have been identified as Shrijith Shetty (27), resident of P L Compound Jeppu, Prajesh (27), resident of Shivanagar Pandeshwar, Prashanth (33) from Garodi Yedapadav and Rajesh (32) from Akash Bhavan Anand Nagar.

After receiving credible information about some people betting on IPL Cricket in a Innova car, the CCB police team led by Inspector Valentine D’Souza raided the area at Jail Road and seized the Innova car which was used for betting.
The police also seized Rs 4,90,000 cash, 6 mobile phones, laptop, MTS Dongal, Innova car, Bajaj Pulsar Bike and a Dairy containing information on betting all amounting to Rs 21,20,000.
Later the arrested were handed over to the Barke police station for further investigation.
Under the direction of Police commissioner S Murugan and the able guidance of DCP Crime Vishnuverdhan, CCB Inspector Valentine D’Souza along with PSI Shyamsundar and other police officials carried out the operations.
