Mangaluru (update): On November 15, Bhuraram from Rajasthan was on his way to Kankanady Railway station to go to his native place along with his friends on a Scorpio belonging to Bhavar Maharaj.
When the Scorpio bearing number KA 21 N 6721 reached near Bajal Railway station at 3:10 am, four unidentified persons signaled to stop the scorpio, threatening the occupants in the car with a pistol and knives. They got into the scorpio and threatened the driver to take the scorpio to B C Road. On the way, they took away all their belongings, snatched their mobile phones, cash Rs 1,30,000 and gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 1,44,000 from the occupants. Later the accused dropped all the four occupants near Bajal Cross and fled in the Scorpio taking along the driver with them.
Bhuraram along with his friends filed a complaint in the Kankanady Rural police station. Getting into action the Rural police first arrested the driver of the Scorpio along with two others.
The arrested have been identified as Banwarlal Raval (31), Saganlal Raval (30), bothnfrom Rajasthan and Kishore Kumar (21), a resident of Ballal Bagh.
Police have seized a toy pistol, 2 knives, 8 mobile phones, 10 gram gold, Rs 95,000 cash, Scorpio and a Indica Car from their possession. Search is on for the other two accused.
Under the able guidance of Police commissioner S Murugan, the DCP law and orderShantharaju, DCP Crime Dr M Sanjeev Patil, ACP Kalyan Shetty, the inspector of Rural police station Pramod Kumar, SI Mallappa D Maddi, Venkatesh, ASI Keshav Hegde,Kushalappa Gowda, HC Ranjan, Mohan Sudhakar Rao, Deepak, Girish, Subhash,Suketh, Melwyn Pinto, Chidananda, Suresh, Shivananda, Sharanappa, Kushal Hegdeand team carried out the operation.
Mangaluru: Four Merchants Looted in City
Mangaluru: In a case of dacoity, four merchants who were on their way to the Kankanady railway station were kidnapped and looted on November 15.
According to the police, on November 15, at around 3:10 am, Bhuraram along with his friends were traveling on a Scorpio vehicle bearing number KA 21 N 6721 to the railway station. When the vehicle reached near Bajal Railway Cross, four unidentified persons signaled to stop their vehicle.
When the driver stopped the Scorpio, one among the four persons took out a pistol while the other three flashed knives to scare them. They then forced the driver to drive the vehicle towards B C Road, and on the way, they took away all their belongings, snatched their mobile phones, cash and valuables all worth Rs 2,74,000/-. Returning back, at 3:45 am they dropped Bhuraram and his friends at Bajal Cross and fled from the spot.
In this connection, a case was filed in the Kankanady rural police station. The occupants in the car suspect that the vehicle driver, Bhavar Maharaj, was also involved in the crime.
