Mangaluru: Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza, a Capuchin Priest of Karnataka province, successfully defended his doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Theology, University of Zurich in Switzerland. His scholarly research was on “The challenges of Hindu-Christian dialogue in India.”
Resident of Ashoknagar in Mangalore, Fr D’Souza is an accomplished scholar. He obtained the Masters degree (Philosophy and Religion) from Karnataka University, Dharwad (1999), Licentiate in Philosophy, Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome (2002). He has served as the Dean of Studies at Kripalaya, Mysore, the Center of Philosophical Studies of the Karnataka Capuchin Province.
Fr D’Souza is a prolific writer and musician, he has brought out several albums. He is the younger brother of Bishop Ignatius D’Souza of Bareilly and the nephew of Fr J B Crasta, Vicar Forane and Parish priest of Rosario Cathedral, Mangalore.
