Mangaluru: The foundation stone laying ceremony of the first of the series of theme-based malls-“Transit One” mall at Tokkuttu, an initiative by Ecologic Habitats was held on Friday, 20 November, which was graced by eminent people and well-wishers. This unique kind of mall-Transit One once completed will offer a wide range of products right from affordable mini boutique stores to large drive in supermarkets, restaurants, food courts, social clubs, thus catering to all sections of the society. The external facade also has a large electronic display screen where one can showcase their ideas and brands. Promoters of the project envision Transit One to be a ‘Small world of large happiness’.
During the ceremony addressing the gathering, Managing Director of Ecologic Habitat,P S Mohammed said, “This is one of the many theme based malls that will be launched by Ecologic Habitat, a two-year old company. But we have over 25 years of construction experience. This mall located right on NH 66 will be a convenient shopping destination for the residents of this area and thousands of students of the nearby universities and colleges located at Derlakatte. We have also planned similar kind of theme malls at Surathkal and BC Road. Transit One will be completed by 2018, about 30 months. Already we have sold 29 units, which cost from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 90 lakhs “.
The Transit One brochure was released by Ismail Adka, Mohammed A Kunhi and IM Adka. The event was graced by Chandra Chowta-the land owner, and many other well-wishers and guests. Khader Caizer welcomed the gathering while P S Mohammed thanked the gathering.
