Mangaluru: ICYM holds Yuvasamavesh with ‘Youth Unity, Builds Community’

Mangaluru: With great zeal and enthusiasm, ICYM Episcopal City Deanery organized ‘Yuvasamavesh – 2015’ at Rosario Church Hall here, on August 23. The theme of Yuvasamavesh – 2015 was ‘Youth Unity, Builds Community’.

The programme began with an invocation. More than 150 youth participated in the samavesh. The programme was inaugurated by the Mayor of MCC, Jacintha Alfred.

In her inaugural speech, Mayor Jacintha said that Yuvasamavesh is a platform where youth can share their ideas and learn how to develop leadership qualities. She also inspired the youth with her encouraging words and wished all the participants a bright future.

 

Parish priest of Rosario Cathedral Fr J B Crasta presided over the programme. Fr J B Crasta advised the students to have positive thoughts, to set a goal in their life and work hard to achieve it. “Hardwork is the only key towards success,” he said.

On this special day Mayor Jacintha Alfred, Fr Santosh Lobo and Jonita Rasquinha were felicitated by Fr J B Crasta for their service to the society, varado and towards youth.

Robin Cutino conducted an ice breaker session. Fr Robert ,the Principal of Lourdes Central School, conducted an effective session on the topic “Youth Unity Builds Community”, which was followed by an Eucharistic celebration.

In the afternoon, a fun-filled session was held where the Dynamic Youth of Episcopal City Deanery unit presented their talents which was appreciated by all. Various interesting games and group activities were also conducted in which the youth actively participated. Yuvasamavesh-2015 concluded with a feedback session that was conducted by Robin Cutino.

Convener of Yuvasamavesh-2015 Leon Saldanha, Assistant parish prist of Milagres Fr Santosh Lobo, ICYM diocesan president Alwyn and others were also present.
