Mangaluru: The United Muslim Organization (UMO) held a press meet at Hotel Woodlands here, on May 20.
Addressing the mediapersons, President of United Muslim Organization (DK District) K Ashraf said that a 4-year-old girl was sexually assaulted because of the perverted mind of the driver of Mangalore One school. “The school administration has not taken any initiative to punish the culprit. Instead, the school authority is trying to protect the him. We have given a memorandum to the ministers, MLAs, Police Commissioner and the district administration to investigate the case. But so far, we did not get any report on the progress of the case.”
He further said that an FIR has been registered against the accused and the police have arrested the van driver. “But the school authorities, instead of supporting the victim and her parents, are forcing the parents to withdraw the case. The school administration has also sent wrong information to the parents of other students. The girl’s parents have also contacted the doctors to get the medical reports but the doctors were not ready to give the report to the victim’s parents. Instead, the report has reached the school administration.” He also alleged that the school administration is trying to deprive the victim from getting justice.
“This shows that the police department, medical department, education department and the district administration have failed to provide justice to the victim. The United Muslim Organization will stage a protest in front of the DC office on May 22 at 4 pm.”
The Organization has also demanded to include the school administration in the CID investigation. “The license of the school should be cancelled for not following the norms of CBSE. The parents of the victim should get a fair report on the investigation of the case and also the medical report should be handed over to the parents. The victim should get compensation and also security of her education.”
H Ismail Shafi, Haneef, Hameed Kudroli, Sajid Munid, Naushad and others were also present.
