Mangaluru: The city police have held an investigation into the murder of two inmates, Madoor Yusuf aka Madoor Isubu and his associate Ganesh Shetty, after a skirmish inside the district sub-jail on Nov 2 last.
A fight caused by harassment to each other by two groups had allegedly led to the killing of the duo. A case in this regard had been registered at the Barke police station. The police had arrested nine persons including Akash Bhavan Sharan, belived to be loyal to don Vicky Shetty on charges of Yusuf murder and 12 persons in connection with Ganesh murder.
A reference is made in the chargesheet to a call made by Vicky Shetty to the media, claiming responsibility for the murder of Yusuf. There is also a mention about sharp weapons supplied to Sharan’s supporters in the jail from outside.
