Mangaluru: District BJP President Pratap Simha Nayak held a press meet at the BJP Office here, on May 27.
Addressing the mediapersons, Pratap Simha Nayak said that last time, the BJP government was in power in the state and now the Congress government is in power. “But we have very good supporters in the state. The Gram Panchayat election is nearing and we have only two days to go. This time the BJP candidates will win the Gram Panchayat elections by a huge margin.”
He further said that the recent lottery scam is an open secret and everyone knows who is involved in the scam. “In two years of Congress rule, there have been a number of scams and law and order is not in place. The Congress government is trying to protect the culprits by pressurizing the police not to take action against them. Congress ministers said that Modi magic will not work during the Gram Panchayat elections, but we are sure that the people will not support the Siddaramaiah government which is sleeping. People are happy with the BJP government led by Modi which indicates that the people will surely elect BJP candidates in the forthcoming Gram Panchayat elections.”
When asked about the recent complaints against BJP violating the election code of conduct by distributing pamphlets with party leaders’ photographs, Pratap Simon Nayak said, “We have received a notice in this regard and will look into the issue. We have been told that we cannot use Modi’s or the party’s name for this election. We have not used the said pamphlets after being issued the notice.”
