MangalUru: Malar Jayaram Rai Inaugurates University Media Centre for Journalists

Mangalore University for the first time as launched Media Centre for Journalists to facilitate media persons to report from Mangalagangothri Campus to their office directly with computer and internet facilities on a regular basis.

Veteran Journalist and Writer Malar Jayaram Rai inaugurated the Media Centre at Kaveri Guest House, here on January 2.

Prof K Byrappa, Vice-Chancellor, Mangalore University announced about the innovative MANGALA PROJECT under which five villages from Dakshina Kannada District will be adopted by the university for this year. Students of the University will be actively involve in the project.
Prof K Byrappa also initiated MADHYAMA SPANDANA, an interaction programme with the journalists. A number of valuable suggestions were made by the journalists and Vice-Chancellor assured them to take up the matter.

Prof G P Shivram, Co-ordinator, welcomed the gathering. Registrar, Prof. T D Kemparaju made an introductory remarks and Prof A M Khan, and Registrar (Evaluation) delivered the vote of thanks.

Inauguration of All India Inter- University Ball Badminton Championship for Men 2015-16

All India Inter- University Ball Badminton Championship for Men was inaugurated by Karnataka Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fisheries, K Abhayachandra Jain on 2 January 2016 at the Mangalore University Campus, Mangalagangothri.

K Abhayachandra Jain delivered the inaugural address. Prof. T D Kemparaju, Registrar, Former Directors of Physical Education Mangalore University – Dr K V Shenoy and Dr H Nagalingappa, Dr Kishore Kumar C K, Organizing Secretary were present on the occasion.

Prof. K Byrappa, Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University presided over the function.
