Mangaluru : Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, Sr M Supriya AC- Principal of St Agnes College said, ” St Agnes College and Agnesian Alumnae Association will be organizing ‘Mother Mary Aloysia Endowment Lecture 2015 o 18 March 2015 at 3pm in the college auditorium. Mother Mary Aloysia is a single woman from India to receive the ” Kaiser-E-Hind Gold Medal I Class award” by the British Government for her outstanding services in the field of women’s education at her time.”
She further said, ” Smt Margaret Alva, Hon’ble Former Governor of Uttarakhand-Rajasthan, Gujarath and Goa states will deliver the lecture on the topic “Women in Politics-Prospects and Challenges”. This is the first endowment lecture organized by the college and it has institute an award – “Mother Mary Aloysia Endowment Award” for a distinguished Agnesian- and this time it has been awarded to Margaret Alva since she is an alumnus of St Agnes Institutions and has rendered yeomen services to the society in different capacities”.
Dr Deviprabha Alva- Convenor and Dean of Commerce and Management-SAC; Sr Dr M Jeswina AC- Vice Principal-SAC and Usha Fernandes- VP of Agnesian Alumnae Association were present on the dais during the press meet.
