Mangaluru: The Premier Educational Fair, which witnessed thousands of students and their parents embrace active participation from leading institutions and colleges at the TMA Pai Hall here on December 19.
Mangaluru’s most anticipated educational mega fair, ‘Career Utsav 2015’ was inaugurated by the Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation Dr Mohan Alva by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.
The students participated in different workshops organized at the event and registered themselves and answered the mock CET and Psychometric tests to assess themselves and train better. The event saw education giants like SRM University, Alliance University, Manipal University, NITTE University, etc from across the state come together to support Career Utsav. Renowned brands like State Bank of India and Start-up ‘Make Me Learn’ also joined hands to educate studentswho are at a crossroad in their career after class 12th.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mohan Alva said, “The current generation is very lucky and privileged to get a lot of Career Guidance’s and Career options. Career Utsav 2015’ is not just an education exhibition but a platform for students to explore various opportunities aligned for them and I think it is the best place to start searching for their right career.”
Commenting on the event, Pradeep Naik, Founder and CEO of Fuel Media Solutions said, “The grand success of Career Utsav at Mangaluru last year prompted us to extend the Education Fair this year too. Mangaluru being one of the top Educational Hubs in Karnataka attracts students from all over the country and it is just right place for us to have such Career Guidance fairs which are far more unique from the common Education fairs which run across the country throughout the year. Career Utsav has been designed to provide a platform to offer the best to aspiring students who want to achieve something in life and carve a niche position for themselves in the society”.
He also said,”The main purpose of Career Utsav is to help students pursue their dreams instead of giving in to the highly underestimated parental, peer pressure and get misguided to an unsuccessful career. We have various brands and institutions on board with us under one roof to give the parents and the students more options to choose from,” he concluded.
12 detailed workshops and seminars were conducted on New-age Engineering careers, Medicine in 21st century, All about Overseas education, New Age Engineering Careers, Designing a Career in Fashion, Design in Digital World, Exam Stress and Change Management, How to score Well in Board exams, Architecture- A promising creative career, Off beat careers, Trends in Management and many more. One of the highlights of this year’s programme was Workshop in Film Making – A collaborative Art which was conducted by Top Film Institute of Mumbai, Whistling Woods. Leading universities from across the nation participated in the event. The event saw big institutions and organizations like, SRM University, PES University, Oxford Group of Institutions, REVA University, Alliance University, Ramaiah Institutions, Manipal University, NITTE University, to name a few, participating. State Bank of India supported the event by providing information and various options they have on education loans for students.
The Career Utsav 15, is the first of its kind Career and Education fair which conducted Psychometric Tests, Free counseling’s, mock CET test, various scholarship tests etc. The youth also got 100 % scholarships for the Tests conducted by various universities. Students who topped the Mock Tests conducted were awarded with Laptops and Tabs. The organizers distributed 5000+ career guidance books to +2 students. This time, Career Utsav saw students of 125+ schools and colleges from all over Dakshin Kannada Districts like Udupi, Karkala, Ullala, Moodbidri, Kateel, Ujire, Dharmasthala, Bantwal etc. participated in the programme. All this was provided totally free of cost to the Students and Parents who attended the Education Fest, thus making this event as one of the Pioneer Education Events in the country and made it stand apart from the rest of the fairs that are organized throughout the year.
