Mangaluru: Minister Ramanath Rai Holds Guddali Puja for Kadri Park Entrance

Mangaluru: The Guddali Puja for the entrance of the Kadri Park was held at the Park premises here on September 14.

District minister in-charge Ramanath Rai broke the coconut and performed Guddali Puja. Addressing the mediapersons Ramanath Rai said that the Kadri park is a special attraction to the people of Mangaluru. The Kadri park will be developed under the MLA fund. Already Rs 30 lakh have been sanctioned for the project and the work will start from September 15. The other part of the Kadri park will be developed under various funds. The deer park will be developed and already Rs 5 crore has been sanctioned. The Kadri park should be maintained well, he said.

MLA J R Lobo said that the Kadri park is the only park for the people of Mangaluru. We are trying to develop the park. In the deer park, for the musical fountain tender process is under progress. Rs 5 crore will be spent for the musical fountain. The main road will be developed and all the measures will be taken for the seating arrangements in the park. We have already prepared a DPR and in the coming days we will develop the park.

Under the CSR funds the park will be developed in various stages. Our aim is to make the Kadri Park a model one. For the children’s train the government has already sanctioned Rs 40 lakh and we are requesting the Mangalore city corporation to sanction Rs 11 lakh for the children’s train track. The authorities are discussing with the women and child development department of Hubbali for the model of the children’s train.

Mayor Jacintha Alfred, Corporators Roopa D Bangera, Sashidhar Hegde, Lancelot Pinto, Sabitha Misquith, Ashok, Asha D’Silva and others were also present.
