Mangaluru: Minister U T Khader inaugurates Vincentian Prayer Hall and Concrete Road

Mangaluru: The Vincentian Prayer hall and concrete road was inaugurated at Premannur, Kerebail Thokkottu here on April 19.

Prior to the inauguration a prayer service was held. Bishop of Beltangady Lawrence Mukkuzhy, celebrated the holy mass along with other priests.

A stage programme was held on the occasion. National Youth Director for ICYM Fr Franklin D’Souza, welcomed the gathering.

The programme was inaugurated by the Vicar General of Mangaluru Diocese Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries, he also blessed the prayer hall.

Minister for health and family welfare U T Khader inaugurated the concrete road, Premannur, Kerebail leading to the prayer hall.

Addressing the gathering Khader said that the prayer hall has been built for the religious needs of the people. Let people come to the prayer hall to pray and let their prayers be answered. He further said that whatever power we politicians have is not permanent because it is in the hands of the people to elect us, but the power the religious heads have is permanent, we are seeking their blessing to be successful in our mission. While concluding he said that in this world everyone want peace and harmony, let us all live in peace and also let others to live in peace.

MLA J R Lobo speaking on the occasion said that to practice Christianity we need to gather in a place where there is peace. We are constructing huge buildings to live, but when we do not get peace of mind in that building it will be difficult to lead a peaceful life. If we want to lead a christian life we have to be the witnesses of Jesus Christ. Whoever believes in Jesus Christ are true Christians. We should be the role models in the society by our attitude and day-to-day life. He congratulated the priests for building the prayer hall and dedicating it to the people to pray and fulfil their religious needs.

Chairman of Rohan Infratech Rohan Monteiro was felicitated on the occasion. Director of Vincentian Prayer hall Fr Joseph V delivered the vote of thanks. Provincial superior Fr Paul Puthuva and others were also present.
