Mangaluru: Minister for Health and Family Welfare, UT Khader celebrated the New Year day with autistic children at the City Centre mall here, on January 1.

The children were taken to a game centre, where they played many games along with UT Khader, who had joined them. The Minister later took the children to a specialty clothing and accessory store and asked them to purchase anything that the like. The children at once sprang along the store and purchased many dresses and other accessories.

Speaking to the mediapersons, UT Khader said, “I always wanted to spend my time with these kids. I like to see them happy but I never got any opportunity to do that. I finally made up my mind to share my happiness of the New Year with them.”

An autistic kid said, “Yes I am happy, I wish this happens every year.”

Speaking to Mangalorean.com, mother of an autistic child, Kalavathi said, “My child Samanth is a state level silver medalist in the swimming competition held for autistic children and he is quite talented. It is so nice to see him happy. The New Year has started with so much enthusiasm; I wish we get to witness such kind gestures from others as well. I thank UT Khader for this special day.”

It was heartwarming to see the smiles on the faces of the children. On lookers were happy to see UT Khader, who had made himself available from his busy schedule to spend some quality time with the autistic children. Such kind gestures are always welcomed by the general public. Indeed the New Year has started with quite a lot of enthusiasm.
