Mangaluru: MLA J R Lobo and Mayor Jacintha Inspect Renovated Town Hall Work

Mangaluru:  MLA J R Lobo along with Mayor Jacintha Alfred visited the renovated Town Hall to take stock of the work in progress here, on November 12.

Speaking to the mediapersons, J R Lobo said that the work has almost been completed. “The little work that is pending will be completed soon. More than 200 labourers are working day and night to complete the work. As we have assured to inaugurate the renovated Town Hall on November 14, we will keep our promise and the inauguration will be held on November 14 at 11:30 am. The hall is getting ready with world class equipment,” said Lobo.

Mayor Jacintha speaking on the occasion said that whatever the work has been done accordingly to the proposed plan. The work will be done by tomorrow evening and the hall will be ready for inauguration on November 14.

She further said that all necessary systems are available inside the hall. “Earlier, people used to bring the sound system and lights from outside but now all the facilities are available in the hall. We have not yet decided about increasing the rent. Once we complete the inauguration work, we will discuss this matter with the concerned officials and fix the price.”

Junior engineer Raghupal said that the total cost of the renovation work is Rs 4.58 crore and all the work has been completed, with the final touches remaining. “The work is going on day and night and we will complete the work by tonight or tomorrow morning. On November 14, the renovated hall will be inaugurated,” he said.

Executive engineers Yashwant Poojary, Linge Gowda and others were also present.
