Mangaluru: MLA J R Lobo along with Mayor Jacintha Alfred inaugurated the road work from 45 Port-Pandeshwar Main Raod (Nehru Circle) to Railway Level Crossing Hoige Bazar Main Road and Corporation Bank Head office to Rosario Church here, on March 28.
After the inauguration, J R Lobo speaking to the mediapersons said that the 45 Port-Pandeshwar Main Road (Nehru Circle) to Railway Level crossing Hoige Bazar Main Road and Corporation Bank Head office to Rosario Church Road were not in good condition. They also did not have proper footpaths. The state government has sanctioned Rs 1.2 crore under the SFC grant for the development of these roads.
He further said, “The concreting work of the said road will be completed within 6 months, the work being done even in the rainy season. The contractor Rama Kamath and Co have assured to complete the work on time.”
The total amount will be Rs 1.2 crore for the concreting of 250 meter road work. In the first phase, 180 meters of the road work will be done with 4 lane concrete road, including the median, footpath and drainage system.
Mayor Jacintha Alfred also spoke on the occasion. Corporators Prakash B Saliyan, Deepak Poojary, Kavitha, Abdul Lathif and others were also present.
