Mangalore: MLA J R Lobo along with Mayor Mahabala Marla inaugurated the concrete work of the St Agnes-Mallikatte and the Kadri Junction to Nanthur Junction road here on February 16.
After the inauguration, J R Lobo speaking to the mediapersons said that the concrete road work for the two lane road from St Agnes to Mallikatta and Kadri Junction to Nanthur Junction has been sanctioned and the work will be completed within 45 days. The total cost of the St Agnes – Mallikatte project is Rs 1.4 crore and the Kadri Junction to Nanthur Junction is Rs 1.42 crore. Both roads are main roads in the city and the work will be completed as soon as possible for public use.
The tedious formal procedures regarding road development had delayed the road work. The 225m new road from Kadri Junction to Nanthur Junction will be made along with footpaths and proper drainage system. Electric cables will also be shifted underground.
He congratulated Mayor Marla and the whole MCC team for their hardwork and said that the MCC engineers have taken special interest to develop all the roads in Mangaluru city. MCC has also taken up the rain drainage work and it is under progress.
