Mangaluru: Mobile Jammers Causing Inconvenience to Residents – Lobo Assures to Solve Problem

Mangaluru: To prevent any untoward incidents happening in the sub-jail, mobile jammers were installed at the Jail premises but the same mobile jammers have been causing inconvenience to the people residing in MG Road area.

Karkada, one of the resident called mangalorean.com and complained regarding the Mobile jammers causing them inconvenience, they are not able to use the phone nor are they able to receive any calls. Our correspondent advised the caller to approach the authorised person and explain to them the problems they are going through.

Some of the residents from M G Road approached MLA J R Lobo regarding the mobile jammers installed inside the jail premises causing inconvenience to them. Lobo after listening to their complaints assured to look in to the matter.

Lobo later brought the issue to the notice of the Additional Director General of Police & Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department (PCAS) K V Gagandeep who assured to solve the problem as soon as possible. The home secretary will discuss the issue with the Mobile network provider and find a permanent solution, he said.

The jammers were installed after continuously finding mobile phones which were used by the jail inmates to communicate with the people outside. The police have several times seized ganja and mobile phones from inside the jail.
