Mangaluru: As presumed already, new moon was not sighted in the coastal regions on Thursday, July 16, possibly because of rains and cloudy conditions.
Hence, as a full month of fasting has elapsed, the feast will be celebrated in the two districts on Saturday, July 18.
The Muslim brethren have expressed happiness over the fact that this year they had the rare privilege of fasting over full number of days of the month.
