The exhibition was inaugurated by District incharge minister Ramanath Rai, Health Minister UT Khader, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Former Mayor Shasidhar Hegde, corporators Ashok D K, ‘Tulu film actors R J Rupesh Shetty, Anvitha Rao, and Sheethal Nayak, along with other VIPs. The ministers complimented the Director of NCF Gautham Agarwal for his work and his efforts to entertain the citizens of Mangaluru through this fair. Minister UT Khader said that the fair will increase the business opportunities for the people who participate in the fair and consumers will get new things at reasonable prices. He said Mangaluru had become a favourite place for exhibitors and consumer fair operators as the consumers were very receptive to new consumer goods. MP Ivan D’souza said that consumer fairs like these will increase the interaction of exhibitors as well as the consumers. DC AB Ibrahim who arrived a little late also praised the work of the labors who created the Taj Mahal and also congratulated Gautham Agarwal for his unique idea.
Speaking to Mangalorean.com at the Fair, Gautham Agarwal-the director of NCF said that he is very happy in organizing such exhibition here because Mangaloreans are good people, friendly and very supportive and courteous. The response has been overwhelming in the past. The key feature of this fair is that all the useful household appliances are available under one-roof. “I love organizing National Consumer Fairs in this city, and it has always been successful” he said beaming with pride. He further said, “This Fair which is India’s largest shopping and Amusement Exhibition will be a thrilling and full of excitement since we are introducing for the first time the Replica of Taj Mahal.We have been organizing this Fair for the last three decades. I am confident that even this year Mangaloreans and people from neighbouring areas will patronize this Fair and make it a success”.
“The Taj Mahal is a huge work of inspired art. It stands as tall as 40ft and covers 70ft x 150 ft. A team of about 150 workers have worked for over 25 days, and have created a magnificent replica of the original Taj Mahal. People coming to the exhibition can take photographs by standing in front of this replica or a selfie, and take home some memories. Over the years NCF has also created some of Seven Wonders of the World, like the White House, Red Fort, Buckingham Palace, JOG Falls, Dinosaur City, etc.” added Agarwal.
