Mangaluru: The Nethaji Institute of Nursing Sciences and Premakanthi College of Education held their Graduation Ceremony at Don Bosco Hall here on April 7.
Health and Family welfare minister U T Khader was the chief guest. Pro Vice Chancellor of Manipal University Dr V Surendra Shetty was the guest of honour. Addressing the students Dr V Surendra Shetty said that in Dakshina Kannada there are a number of nursing institutions, in 5 years we need half a million nurses. He further said that Nursing is a noble profession and the nurses are serving human beings right from the womb to the tomb. Nurses are important workforce in the health care industry. He congratulated the students for choosing the noble profession.
President of Premakanthi Educational and Charitable Trust (R), Prof A Premalatha Shetty presided over the programme. Secretary, Prof A Rathnakanthi Shetty, Trustees Sudhir Prasad Shetty, Gurukiran; Dr Shiv Sharan, Principal of Nursing Sciences; Prof Harish K, Principal of the College of Education and Dr Jyotsna Rao K were present on the dais.
Dr V Surendra Shetty and Minister U T Khader presented the certificates and medals to the graduates and post graduates on the occasion.
A cultural programme was held by the students on the occasion.
