Mangaluru: An advanced state of the art Olympus Endoscopy System has been installed in Father Muller Medical College Hospital. The present system incorporates Gastroscope, Colonoscope, Side Viewing ERCP Scope and Bronchoscope.
Patients can avail the benefit of these highly sophisticated equipment for the diagnosis and management of various ailments of the aerodigestive tract. Advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures like polypectomy, biopsy, sphincterotomy and stent placement, esophageal dilatation and insertion of self expanding metal stents can be carried out. This advanced system is highly sensitive in detecting and screening of various cancers of the abdomen and lungs.
This new Endoscopy Equipment was blessed by the Administrator Fr Richard Coelho on 18 February 2015. Dr Erel Diaz – HOD of Surgery, Dr John Martis, Dr Rakesh Rai and PG’s were present. Nursing Staff along with OPD Supervisor Sr Janet, Sr Mary Lasrado Nursing Supt were also present.
