Mangaluru: Buntara Yane Nadavara Matra Sangha organized a conclave “Bandhavya”, at Bunts Hostel here on April 2.
The programme began with an invocation. Joint Secretary of Buntara Yane Nadavara Matra Sangha Kavu Hemanath Shetty welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by the IGP of Western Range Amrit Paul IPS by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries.
Financial help was handed over to the physically challenged and differently-abledby Amrit Paul. President of Buntara Yane Nadavara Matra Sangha Maladi AjithKumar Rai briefed on the book “Vishwa Buntara Mahiti Kosha” (directory comprising basic information of Bunt community around the world), and the activities of the Sangha on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering Armit Paul said, “There is no greater wealth than wisdom, no greater poverty than ignorance and no greater heritage than culture”. He further said that the Bunts Sangha, endeavors to promote Socio-economic, cultural and educational aspects of the community and it is dedicated to the welfare of the Bunts.
The Bunts Sangha aptly realized the need and importance of education. They started Bunts Schools and hostels to educate the community members. The Bunts accepted the challenges and transformed them into success. Today we are seeing the Bunt leaders succeed in business, education and Medical. InMangaluru the population of the Bunt community is very less but they are the most successful people in the society. Amrit Paul urged the Bunts to work for the welfare of the community people and bring equality. He also said to uplift the poor and the downtrodden by supporting them financially and morally.
Director General and Inspector General of police Om Prakash sent his recorded message and wished the Bunt community.
Students from the Bunt community who have excelled in their education as well as in extra curriculum activities were felicitated on the occasion. Scholarships were also distributed to the community students.
Dr Mohan Alva, A J Shetty, Karnire Vishwanath Shetty, Dr Naresh Shetty and Sham N Shetty were also present.
Kenchanur Somashekar Shetty delivered the vote of thanks. Suresh Chowta compered the programme.
