Mangaluru: Weather has been so erratic in the coastal districts that at times it difficult to determine if it is monsoon, winter or summer. Last week, heavy chill in the nights was followed by sultry humidity for two days.
In the city, Sunday was the warmest with 33.8 deg Celsium as maximum and 25 as minimum.
On Sunday, heavy rains, accompanied by lightning and thunder, hit several parts of Beltangady taluk like Aladangad, Dharmasthala, Ujire, Mundaje, Gerukatte, Madantyar and others.
Minor showers with signs of lightning and thunder from a distance were experienced in Puttur, parts of Mangaluru, Puttur, Kadaba and Moodbidri. The same was the case with Uppinangady and Subrahmanya. There was overcast in Ullal and Sullia.
Met forecast says there will be mild showers on Dec 14. Cloudy atmosphere will prevail from Dec 15 to 19, according to reports. This has kept organizers of some oper-air functions worried, as they have been planning the events for months together.
