Brahmashree K S Nithyananda Swamiji performed the Bhoomi Puja. Parish priest of St Dominic Church, Fr Aquin Noronha blessed the project. Former district Minister in-charge, Krishna J Palemar inaugurated the programme along with MLA J R Lobo and other dignitaries on the dais.

Addressing the gathering, Krishna J Palemar said that a number of buildings are coming up and the builders have contributed in beautifying the city. “When there is a new building coming up, the surrounding area will also be beautified.” He advised the builders and developers of Spring Dale to give priority to the environment and maintain greenery in the area.

He further said that in olden days, people used to live in joint families but now people live separately and many families live in one building and so, it is the duty of the builders to provide apartments where the residents have peace of mind and live happily. He also said, “Spring Dale is the maidan project of Pranava builders and they will surely provide quality construction to its customers.”

“Partner of Pranava builders, Sampath was one of the active staff at Land Links and he worked hard for the success of the firm. Now, he has decided to start his own business. Land Trades is very popular and chairman of Land Trades was also with us and with our blessings, he started his own firm and he is successful in his venture. I wish Sampath success because he has taken a bold step in starting his own firm.” He advised the partners to work with unity and transparency to be successful in their venture.

MLA J R Lobo speaking on the occasion said, “In Mangaluru, when there is a foundation stone laying ceremony, we feel happy because it is a basic facility which helps to beautify the city. If anyone comes from outside the state, they feel that it is a huge city but in reality it is not. We have a population of only 5 lakh. When some builders start new projects, we feel scared because Mangaloreans cannot buy all the apartments; we need buyers from outside. To attract buyers, our city needs to grow. We need to grow our IT industry and other industries. To retain the brand of Mangaluru, we also have to live in peace and harmony. In the recent past, Mangaluru has become famous for the wrong reasons. We need to erase the black dots in brand Mangaluru, which is a setback for the growth of our city. We have been trying to bring the IT industries to Mangaluru but people are afraid to come here; they question about safety, peace and harmony.”

He also said that in the IT sector, bringing the start-up companies has become difficult. “They refuse to come here saying that in Mangaluru, there is no IT attitude and that they are afraid to do business. So we need to grow and strengthen our city bringing in various industries. The businesses of those who are doing it currently, should be sustained and newcomers should also grow. If the IT and tourism sector will not grow in Mangaluru, budding entrepreneurs will be discouraged. Let us all try to protect and lift brand Mangaluru. Let us invite various industries to our city. If we will not try to bring peace and harmony in the city, our smart city will remain only on paper. Let us all strive hard to maintain peace, harmony and grow in unity for the success of Mangaluru and make it a smart city,” he added.

MLA J R Lobo released the brochure of Spring Dale. Promoter of Spring Dale, Sampath Shetty briefed on the project. Former president of CREDAI Pusparaj Jain and Corporator Nagaveni also spoke on the occasion.

Michelle D’Silva delivered the vote of thanks. Saiheel Rai compered the programme. Chairman of Vishwas Builders Rouf Puttige, honourary president of DK Kabbadi Association B B Ravindranath Rai, Anand K, Arun Kumar, Ganesh Shetty, Co-promoter Gladwin D’Silva and others were also present.
