Mangaluru: A 22-year-old pregnant woman committed suicide by hanging herself at Amblamogeru, Konaje here on April 8.
The deceased has been identified as Priya (22), a native of Tamil Nadu.
According to the police, two years ago Priya fell in love with Vignesh and married him. After 6 months of their marriage, they rented a house in Anblamogeru as their parents were against the marriage. For the past 18 months, they have been staying in Amblamogeru.
The reason this extreme step is yet to be ascertained. It is learnt that Priya was pregnant. Vignesh is missing from his residence and the search is on for him.
A case has been registered in the Konaje Police Station.
