Mangaluru: The officers of Customs at Mangalore International Airport on 2 May 2015, seized 11 Kilograms of ‘Tashrifat’ brand Iranian Saffron approximately valued at Rs 13.75 lakh, from a passenger Moideen Salman, who arrived from Dubai.
The passenger had concealed the saffron along with clothes and other personal items inside two carton boxes which were brought by him as his checked in baggage. 23-year-old Moideen Salman arrived at Mangalore International Airport on 2 May at about 07:50 hrs by Jet Airways Flight No. 9W531 from Dubai, and is a resident of Kasaragod, Kerala.
Further investigation is under progress.
